A little about us.

We’re here to help.

Eat Smart Western New York is a totally free nutrition education and obesity prevention program for low-income youth, adults, and seniors living in Western New York. We help Western New Yorkers eligible to receive SNAP (or other means-based programs like Medicaid or TANF) find fun and easy ways to eat more fruits and vegetables, drink fewer sweetened beverages, and be more physically active. We achieve this through free workshops, cooking classes, grocery store tours, and community events throughout the year. We also partner with agencies and organizations to create initiatives that make it easier for low-income families to eat well and get active.

Where you’ll find us.

We are where you are in Western New York. Our team is always out and about hosting workshops and events throughout the community – with a focus on low-income neighborhoods – including schools, community centers, farmers’ markets, grocery stores, and food pantries. All our events are designed to be hands-on and often include a fun physical activity or an opportunity to prepare a healthy, tasty recipe. Look for us in your community soon!
